If you're a beginner in wikispaces, here are some instructions to assist you in building your own wiki:

There are a lot of codes that you can use to make your wikispace that much more unique and fun. for instance this code:
<iframe src="http://www.wikispaces.com/mail/list/inbox"
frameborder="1" scrolling="auto" width="100%" height="400"></iframe>
allows you to add your mailbox to ANY page of a wiki. (which is highly convienent) members will be asking for the code after seeing it.

Another of my favorite codes is:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
var username;
var user1="tabbycat_1";
username=prompt("Tabbycat_1:"," ");
if (username==user1)
alert("moment of silence!!!");
alert("Please join me in a moment of silence, as we remember the ones lost do to terroist attacks, and the family and friends that lost them!")

(you can change the text in red to what ever you want the pop-up to say)

To embed Google Videos, you must click on this button at the end of the video, same thing goes with Yahoo Videos and probably some other place's videos. Yahoo videos have a larger screen and a button for full screen, but Yahoo has less videos.

To get your chat room, put this code in

Manage Space

So you can Usage Statics by pages tells you the count of a browser came on (if you open to Web browsers to the same page ,it will count to two and so on).

Anyone can invite people, but if you want to invite people where you're not an organizer, your member will have to join the space after you invite them. When an organizer sends invitation, people will jsut have to accept it to get into your space.

Please ask more questions in our discussions. Thanks!

HTML Codes Editing

When you see a web link, look at the type, if its an image type, you can change it, if its just a website (not .swf, ....), you may change the placei t shall link to and if has something after it (words), you may change that to change the words its suppose to say to your own words.
The following is from:http://123mycodes.com/myspace-html-codes.php edited a little
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is a markup language used to create documents for publishing on World Wide Web.

HTML language includes html codes or html tags that tell a web browser how a webpage should look like. We provide the list of basic html codes that help you to change font style, add graphics, create links, and more to your wikispace.

Change font style, add graphics, create links & etc
Making text bold

To make text appear bold, use <b> bold </b> around the text. For example:

Make <b>this text bold</b>

will look like:

Make this text bold

Making text italic

To make text appear italic, use <i>italic</i> around the text. For example:

Make <i>this italic text </i>
will look like:

Make this italic text
Making text underlined
To make text appear underlined (without being an actual link), use <u> underline </u> around the text. For example:

Make <u>this text underlined</u>
will look like:

Make this text underlined

Creating line breaks

There are two basic line breaks in HTML. Use <br> to break to the next line or <p> to skip a line. For example:

will look like:

Changing the size of text

To change the size of text, use <font size="+1"> to look bigger, or <font size="-1"> to look smaller. End with </font>. You can also change the number value if you want to. For example:

Make text <font size="+2">bigger</font> or <font size="-2">smaller</font>
will look like:

Make text bigger or smaller

Changing the type of font

There are a few different fonts you can use, and the most common are:

Times New Roman: (this is the default for all browsers)
Arial or Helvetica: use <font face="Arial, helvetica"> and </font>

Verdana: use <font face="Arial"> text </font>

Times new roman: use <font face="times new roman"> and </font>

For example:

Make <font face="times new roman">this font times new roman</font>

will look like:

Make this font times new roman

Changing the font color

There are many different Web-safe colors that you can use in your template. View our HTML Color Codes Chart.
To make text appear in a certain color, use the color codes like this: <font color="#FF0000">. For example:

Make <font color="#FF0000">this font red</font>
will look like:

Make this font red

To set default font colors for the entire page, use color codes in the <body> command. For example, if you want:

font = black
link = blue
'visited' link = red
'while being clicked' link = pink
<body text="#000000" link="#FFFF00" vlink="#FF0000" alink="#FF00CC">

Adding a graphic

To add a graphic in your space, use <img src="URL">. Be sure to require_once the entire URL of the graphic, starting with http:

Ex: <img src="http://www.123mycodes.com/images/netaxis-icon.gif">

Will Display :

Adding a link

To add a link in your free space, use <a href="URL"> and </a> around the text of the link. Be sure to require_once the entire URL, starting with http:. For example:

Make <a href="http://www.123mycodes.com">this text link to http://www.123mycodes.com</a>
will look like:

Removing a link

To remove a link in your free space, find the <a href="URL"> and </a> around the text of the link.Remove them, but do not remove any more code or you will probably have a broken widget. Be sure to require_once the entire URL, starting with http://.

This is useful so that when you click on certain widgets they will not redirect to their site.

Posting Your Name

Have you wondered how to make your name look like this? -
